The SPE Italian Section, established in 1986 in the context of the Oil & Gas Sector, is committed to address the challenges and solutions for decarbonization and for a broader Energy Transition.

To achieve this, we network with specialists and Associations along the whole energy supply chain.

With respect to Nuclear Energy, we experience a growing interest from the Oil & Gas sector, due to the fact that new nuclear energy solutions emerge as key options to deliver low carbon energy to the customers and to reduce emissions throughout the value chain (from drilling, to production, processing, shipping).

In this context, we felt compelling to provide to our members and readers an accessible but technically sound overview of Nuclear Energy technologies.

The target audience of this Technical Bulletin, entirely devoted to Nuclear Energy, is represented by professionals, industry and academy leaders, policy makers and our young generation.

All of them have an essential role to play now, not in a generic future, because the time required for any industry-scale initiative is necessarily long and delaying strategic choices is not a serious option.
